January - Start the year off fine............

Well here we are - well into the new year and nearly at the end of January! A busy time for my Clairvoyant buddy, Ruth the Truth. We popped into chat to George Bowie and his side-kick Des on their Radio Clyde morning show and what a riot that was!!! Poor Des was left in shock when Ruth told him he would be married within 18 months. She also mentioned that in the past he had been out with some real dogs, but this lady was a 'fabby woman' and that he should hold on to her. Aw - nice! Poor George got a row and was told to organise some help around the house for his wife, who is pregnant. According to Ruth, he also has some great long haul trips to look forward to. Ruth then chatted about some of her predictions for 2008 - including a lottery winner in Pollok, UFO's over East Kilbride, the demise of Amy Winehouse, the success of Rangers...............boy can Ruth talk and predict! An incredibly talented lady. It's always interesting meeting Ruth for a coffee as you just don't know what's coming next. She is a trained Counsellor, a Sex Therapist, Clairvoyant, Psychic Agony Aunt and Astrologer. She certainly knows how to liven up a party and is a sensation at corporate events!

January or course is the time when the spotlight is well and truly on our National Bard and I had a great night at the West Sound burns Supper with Station Director Brenda Ritchie and her crew. A brilliant Burns Supper. Think the team from Ardgowan Homes enjoyed their first experience of this well established event - though a word to Steve and Allan - you'll never get away with saying it's a male only event to your ladies two year's in a row, so get ready to fork out for a few new frocks for next year!

Karen Dunbar was superb performing Tam O'Shanter. Completely different from her usual comedy style, it was a brilliant performance of one of Robert Burns' best known poems!

The Burns theme was extended to the official opening of the new Grill Restaurant at Cameron House Hotel - and what a place that is now. FABBY! Although my colleague wasn't too taken with the glass fronted meat hanging and preparation area within the restaurant. As the talented butcher busied himself with a little 'boning out' demonstration, she was heard to comment "Help - It's like a scene from Taggart!" Poor soul - she doesn't get out much. Just shows how much damage being done by all those prepared meals from M&S. No one knows what the raw ingredients look like!! I thought the whole butcher shop theme was terrific, but then my other half started life as a butcher and is quite handy with a sharp knife himself!

What a Knight!

Wow - what a night at Aviemore at the Tulloch Homes Christmas Party!!! Secret star (as always) was soul and R&B singer Beverley Knight. She was fabby. Great voice and great look. Think all the guys really appreciated Bev's fishnet clad legs complete with seams and her mid calf Christian Louboutin high heeled boots which looked terrific with her sparkly mini dress! And would you believe the lady is a keen football supporter - albeit Wolverhampton Wanderers. Tulloch Chairman David Sutherland did try to get her to come along to the next Inverness Caley Thistle game, but she appeared to be busy that day!!

Beverly - you were sensational! Next time I think I'll use a little more bronzer!!!

Ms Knight is the latest in a line of secret guests. Can you imagine the difficulty of trying to keep secret a soul star in the tiny Highland Village of Aviemore - especially when she flew into Inverness Airport. Poor woman was quickly bundled into a blacked out car and driven off to one of the sumptuous lodges at Coylumbridge. The year before we had Danni Minogue, who was also treated to similar 'spooks' style treatment in Glasgow. Lulu was also subjected to this, again in Aviemore! As you can imagine the bets were on throughout Tulloch Homes as to who the 'star' was this year. A few contenders were the Proclaimers, The Rat Pack and Tom Jones!!! Ahhhhhhh......wrong again!!!!

The lovely Danni Minogue et moi last year! You do of course realise that Simon

Cowel heard about Danni's success at The Tulloch Christmas Party and couldn't wait to snap her up for X Factor. Gaun yersel hen!!!!

And who could forget Lulu the year before. She was brilliant - a real wee action packed dynamo!!!

She and I had a great chat about designer shoes. A real woman of style. She said to me "Who's shoes are they?" pointing to my feet. I of course replied, "Mine!" (I mean, as if I'm going to wear anyone elses!!!) However, she meant which designer darling!!!

Look Young and Beautiful.....

Well girls - isn't it nice to have clients in the beauty industry! Joan's AbFab Hair and Beauty salons in Newton Mearns and Bearsden have a great range of beauty treatments and a girl really has to try them all.......well most of them anyway!!! Love the Omnilux treatment - plumps up the complexion and does all sorts of good things to the skin.

The peel is not the most relaxing treatment but it erases a few lines here and there. You know what they say - no pain no gain!!! Mind you if Marie left that nippy stuff on my face for a minute longer, she would have found herself in need of more than a facial. Think I maybe need a wee relaxing massage next time!!! Sorry Marie!!!!!

Bawbags

BAWBAGS!!!! The hottest selling item at BITE stores!

Brilliant underpants for guys - though lots of wumin are buying them and not letting on!!! Great line on the packaging - This product may contain Nuts!!! See the special winter design in Leopard Print - whoa tiger!!! Needless to say I have purchased a few pairs for stocking fillers.
Enough of mens lingerie - suppose Bawbags do qualify as male lingerie?
Silks in Netherlee is where it's at for us gals who like a little lingerie - in fact, the littler the better (apart from my friend Jenny who wears big knickers - yeuch!) Anyway, other pal, Barbara, is getting married soon so a trip to Silks was priority for the wedding underwear. Marcella at Silks came up with the goods - lovely little Lisa Charmel number in cream silk. Ideal for a blushing bride - or even Barbara (well - it's not as if it's her first time!)

Running Daft

Went to Benidorm a couple of weeks ago to run the half marathon and enjoy a little winter sunshine - nae chance - weather was similar to here - raining and windy. Enjoyed the race anyway and Glasgow half marathon organisers take note, the Spaniards had a magic wee machine that gave you a little till reciept stating your finishing time, position in the race and average pace throughout. Fantastic! This was available immediately after finishing the race. The operator simply keyed your race number into the machine and out popped your details. None of this working out how long it took you to get over the start line and subtracting it from your finishing time and taking a wee bit more off just for good measure.........nope - accurate and efficient. Full marks to the organisers - just try and get a little sunshine for next year please!

Peter, me and Barbara the Bride after the run! See - nae sunshine!

Maybe if I spend the afternoon lying in the sun, I'll not be tempted back into the 'Loch Ness Disco Pub' (lovely!) to dance the night away in platform high heels after running thirteen miles. Not a good idea for those planning to walk the next day - no matter how much Gin you have had. Entirely the fault of John Lamont who insisted we all partake of a wee sherry in this salubrious establishment - right across the road from Sticky Vickys - what class!!!

John and I belting it out on the dance floor! Wan singer wan song hen!!!
